Becoming a trustee
Role of Trustees
Charity trustees are the people who form the governing body of a charity. All of our Trustees are volunteers and many of them are carers themselves. We would like to recruit more service users who have a learning disability.
Trustees accept ultimate responsibility for directing the affairs of the charity, and ensuring that it is solvent, well-run, and delivering the stated aims of Sutton Mencap.
Trustees as volunteers
All Sutton Mencap Trustees are volunteers and are not permitted by law to make any profit out of their association with the charity. Without Trustees, there wouldn’t be a charity, and we appreciate anyone willing to take on so much responsibility for no financial reward! If you would like to discuss joining us as a Trustee, please phone Jan Galloway on 020 8647 8600 or click the "Contact" link above.
