Sutton Mencap’s Breakaways - Respite for Carers
Breakaways is a lively, friendly group of adults who all live with their parents or other unpaid carers. The group aims to provide respite for carers while also giving the cared for person a fun and fulfilling time away. Breakaways enjoy trips to the cinema, London attractions, restaurants, picnics and more.
Breakaways Overnights are weekend long breaks (at Butlin’s, hotels, or the beautiful Old Pheasantry at Mogador), leaving on Friday evening and returning Sunday afternoon.
Please note: Breakaways and Breakaways Overnights are funded by LB Sutton’s Carer’s Grant. Because of this, only people who are cared for by unpaid carers and who live within the London Borough of Sutton. The groups are audited, so unfortunately, we can’t take people to whom this does not apply.
