Hospital Visitor Grant Scheme
Sutton Mencap is able to provide small grants to pay for the costs of care and support for people with a learning disability when they go into hospital.
The Sutton Mencap hospital visitor grant scheme is aimed at ensuring that people with a learning disability living in Sutton can continue to have social contact with familiar paid carers on admission to hospital in order to minimise distress.
The scheme can provide funding to pay for paid staff to visit, plus associated costs of transport, refreshments etc. Applications for funding can be made by social workers, health professionals, family members and carers and organisations and paid staff providing support to people with a learning disability.
The scheme is not designed to replace services that should be provided or funded on a statutory basis.
Applications must be made using the application form and applicants should refer to the grant guidelines and terms and conditions before applying.
