Services for Adults
Community day activities service
This group-based service runs five days per week, providing a range of different activities including visits to local leisure centres, the park, cinema, bowling, taking part in art and dance classes, or a range of in-house activities. Personal care is available.
Breakaways
We also have a programme of services called ‘breakaways' which are aimed specifically at adults who live with parents or other family members. Breakaways provides a programme of activities for adults whilst ensuring parents and carers have a much-needed break from their caring responsibilities. Personal care is available.
Leisure services
Sutton Mencap offers a programme of group-based leisure activities for adults with a learning disability. Groups are aimed at helping people to meet friends, develop skills and have fun. Personal care is not provided, but people are welcome to bring their support workers to help them enjoy the sessions.
Circles of Support
Sutton Mencap’s Circles of Support service came to an end in October 2019 after 3 very successful years.
A Circle of Support is simply a group of people who come together voluntarily and intentionally to help promote and progress the goals and interests of one person. A person’s Circle could help with the big things in life such as how to go about finding work, friendships and relationships or where and how to live. It can also help with more day to day things such as joining a new activity.
If you would like to set up your own circle. Our attached guide can help you.
